Family Education & Support
Research shows that the identified client has a higher likelihood of achieving long-term recovery when family members are actively engaged in their own recovery process. As part of the program, family members learn their own recovery tools, receiving education, therapy, and coaching. There will undoubtedly be ups and downs throughout the journey, so Release offers a number of supports to help you along the way. While clients receive one-on-one care and individualized treatment planning, we provide wrap-around services for the entire family system, as well. Families receive regular check-ins from the case management team, and benefit from both peer and clinical support offered through weekly family groups and quarterly family education weekends.

Guidance for the Journey
Recovery affects more than the individual. Our family programming helps loved ones feel informed, involved, and supported throughout the process.
We provide education, communication strategies, and expert guidance to help families process their own experience while also showing up for the person in treatment. Families are encouraged to take part in programming that builds empathy, sets boundaries, and fosters lasting recovery for everyone involved.
Weekly Family Support Group
Release's weekly Family Support Group is led by our in-house Social Worker and Case Managers. These meetings serve as a safe space for Release Families to receive support & engage in our community. All family members are welcome to attend.
Quarterly Family Wellness Weekend
Held quarterly at our clinical facility in Westchester County, Release’s Family Wellness Weekend is a full weekend of connection, education, healing, and support for families navigating recovery together. Led by our world-class case managers, the experience features inspiring stories of hope from program alumni and their loved ones, as well as informative sessions with our expert clinicians and Chief Medical Officer.
Family Coaching
This is available for parents, siblings, and loved ones who need more individualized support around boundaries, communication, and navigating complex family dynamics. This can look a couple of different ways: additional meetings beyond your weekly check-in with your assigned case manager, or sessions with our family coach, who can take a deeper dive into your needs and coordinate with your care team.
If you’re new to the recovery process or unsure what service is right for
you, we’re here to walk you through it. And if Release isn’t the right fit,
we’re committed to helping you find the support you need.
